Firstly, thanks for all the favs, watches and comments I've had over the past... Lets just say a few months >> I'm going to try and go through them all but I won't be able to thank everyone individually so THANK YOU <3

As you have all probably heard, there was a devastating earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand last week. I'm up in  Auckland, so I didn't feel it or anything, but I have friends down there and I know how devastating it is to them. The death toll is expected to reach 240 people, and is NZ's worst natural disaster in history. Other than that, I've been gearing up for the two cons (possibly three) I'm going to this year, Christchurch and Auckland Armageddons. Chch was postponed due to the earthquake, so we're still waiting on when and where that will be held. Whenever it is, I'll be cosplaying Nagisa from Clannad in her winter school uniform on Saturday and Nia from Gurren Lagann in the comp on Sunday. I'm learning how to cast my own resin and everything for Nia so I'm pretty excited even though the actual costruction is simple. I just wanted to pick something which had an element that I had never done before to improve my range of skills.

I'm not set in stone for Auckland plans, but I hope to compete this year as I didn't last year. I have a few ideas but need to plan a little more first. I will probably also finish Eiko and wear her, as well as 13 year old Franziska from Investigations (Phoenix Wright series) which is already being planned. The con is 4 days this year, to be honest I am quite keen to go all 4 days, but only 3 in cosplay. Who knows. I'm practicing my photography and I'd love to get some great shots of cosplayers, so I might just go as a photographer one day. Not sure yet =]

The possible third one is DO, which I would love to go to if I am still in the country. I have national trials for World Championships of Performing Arts at the end of this month (eek!) and WCOPA is during the week DO is. I need at least a single silver medal for any of my 8 entries to qualify to go. Then it's just funding etc. and I'll be in Hollywood in July representing NZ! I'm basically doing this to prove to myself that I CAN. I grew up not really believing I could sing but really wanting to sing anyway. I've been slowly working on my confidence and now this is really a big test for me. To see whether I enjoy singing in front of loads of people and being judged for it the same way I enjoy singing when no one is listening. I'm also entering in 4 acting categories because that is my main strength I guess, and I also enjoy acting on stage. I want to go to WCOPA so bad, just the experience and the training and exposure they give you while over there. Even if you come back with nothing, I feel like you would have still learnt a lot.
